Condoms and HIV crisis
Since 1989 at least 4 billion condoms have been shipped into sub-Saharan African nations in an attempt to fight HIV, but not only has the situation not abated, it has actually worsened considerably.
In this presentation, Brendan Malone will explore the Catholic approach to HIV prevention, as well as showing that not only are condom based HIV strategies ineffective, they usually create other problems and make the situation worse. He will also talk about African and Asian nations which have experienced huge successes in fighting HIV by using alternatives to condoms, as well as attempts by condom promoters to sabotage these important successes.
